The Real Secret to Managing Credit Card Debt
By W. M. Blake
Here’s a simple system for managing credit card debt – and not just managing it, but getting it paid off once and for all.
I call this system the Debt R.E.D.U.C.T.I.O.N. System. It’s not complicated – in fact, it’s so simple you might wonder if it can really work.
Well, let me tell you from personal experience that it does work – as long as you do some work as well. You see, it might be simple but that doesn’t mean it’s EASY. Getting your credit card debt paid off for good is going to take some work.
But it’s nothing that you can’t handle – I promise
So let’s get into the Debt R.E.D.U.C.T.I.O.N. System…
R – REALIZE The Problem Exists
Nothing’s going to happen until you accept that your debt is a problem and you “realize” that something need to be done about it.
E – EDUCATE Yourself About Your Debt
Education is critical to understanding how credit card debt really works to keep you under the thumb of the credit card companies. But don’t worry – you aren’t going to spending days, weeks or months in “school” – this education is easy to get.
D – DECIDE To Get Your Debt Paid Off
Simply wishing that your debt will go away, or looking for some kind of “magic button” to get rid of it is not the answer. You need to consciously decide to do something before you’ll make progress.
U – UNDERSTAND The Things That Got You Into Debt
Understanding how you arrived at the point you’re at with your credit card debt is essential to the system working properly.
C – CREATE Your Attack Plan
Having a specific attack plan for dealing with your debt is going to make it a lot easier to handle than just shooting blindly in the dark, hoping it will get paid off.
T – TAKE Immediate Action
Taking action is probably the most important part of this system. All the other steps will mean nothing if you don’t take action on them.
I – INVITE Unexpected Challenges
Unexpected challenges are going to rear their ugly head whether you like it or not. Accepting that fact and actually inviting them so you can move on is the best way to handle it.
O – OVERCOME Those Obstacles
When those challenges appear and create what looks like an obstacle to your debt reduction plan, you need to deal with them and don’t let yourself get derailed from the system.
N – NEVER Get Into Debt Again
Once you get your debt paid off, you need to be sure that you never let yourself get back into debt. It’s easy to fall back into the credit trap after paying it all off, so you always need to be conscious of it.
